To My Friends in Ministry this Christmas

Thinking and praying this morning for my fellow friends in ministry who are preparing for their upcoming Christmas services. I echo the words of Paul, "I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit."  [Ephesians 3:16 NLT]

There is a weight and pressure you feel that others don’t realize. You are physically exhausted and emotionally drained. For some, you are counting the days till December 26th, not December 25th. Your spouse feels it. Your kids sense it. And at a time when you need to be at your strongest, you’re actually feeling pretty weak.

Two quick reminders today…

  1. God often does His best work through our weaknesses, not our strengths. Stay connected to the Father and allow His Spirit to empower you. Embrace your weaknesses and be vulnerable enough to allow others to see the Father’s handiwork in your life.

  2. Remember who the Enemy is. The Enemy is not the long list of things that still need done, the technical issues you continue to have, nor the person who says or does something that sets you off. The Enemy is the evil one who wants nothing more than to distract you from the very thing God’s called you to do and to steal your joy in the process.

Pause. Breathe. Lean into the Father and His Spirit will empower you.

Keep looking up,
